Stamped & Decorative Concrete
Get the elegant look of natural stone, brick, or tile without the high cost using stamped and decorative concrete finishes.
The Beauty of Stamped and Decorative Concrete
Stamped and decorative concrete gives you high-end looks at a fraction of what you would pay for natural stone, pavers, or tile. At ParamountGate Margate Concrete, we transform ordinary concrete into beautiful surfaces that look like slate, flagstone, cobblestone, brick, wood planks, or custom patterns. Your guests will think you paid top dollar for imported materials when you actually got the durability of concrete with designer appeal.
The process involves pressing texture mats or stamps into fresh concrete before it hardens. We can add color throughout the mix or apply it to the surface. The result is a one-of-a-kind surface that resists fading, stands up to weather, and requires minimal maintenance. Unlike real stone or pavers that shift, crack, or grow weeds between joints, stamped concrete stays level and looks clean with simple washing.
We have installed decorative concrete on driveways, patios, pool decks, walkways, and entryways across Margate and surrounding areas since 2025. Each project is custom designed to match your home style and personal taste. Whether you want a rustic Mediterranean courtyard, an elegant formal entrance, or a modern geometric patio, we create it with stamped concrete that performs beautifully for decades.

Stamped Concrete Patterns and Colors
The variety of patterns and colors available makes it easy to find a look that complements your home. We show you samples during the design phase so you see exactly what your finished concrete will look like. Our pattern library includes dozens of options and we can combine patterns or create custom borders.
Pattern Options
Popular patterns include ashlar slate that looks like cut stone tiles, random stone for a natural rock appearance, seamless stone with irregular shapes, cobblestone for Old World charm, brick patterns in running bond or herringbone, wood plank that mimics decking, and fan or European fan designs for elegant curves. Each pattern comes in multiple sizes and styles. We help you choose patterns that work with your space and architecture.
Borders add definition and visual interest. A contrasting border in a different pattern or color frames your patio or driveway and creates a finished look. We can also integrate bands, medallions, or custom logos into the design. These details make your concrete unique and add perceived value to your property.
Color Choices
Color transforms concrete from utilitarian to beautiful. We offer two coloring methods. Integral color mixes pigment throughout the concrete so the color goes all the way through. This method provides consistent color that does not wear off. Surface stains are applied after the concrete hardens. They create variegated, natural-looking tones with depth and character. We often combine integral base color with surface accent stains for rich, layered results.
Earth tones remain the most popular choice because they look natural and complement most homes. Think terra cotta, sandstone, slate gray, and warm browns. Cooler colors like blue-gray work well for pool decks because they stay cooler underfoot. We can match or coordinate with your existing hardscape, siding, or trim colors. Multiple colors in one project add dimension and interest.
Keep in mind that color samples on paper do not always match exactly because concrete color varies with mix design, water content, and finishing techniques. We show you completed projects when possible so you see real-world results. Light colors hide dirt less effectively than medium tones. Very dark colors can show surface dust but they also create dramatic impact.
Installation Process and Techniques
Creating beautiful stamped concrete requires skill, timing, and attention to detail. The work happens fast because we must complete all stamping and coloring before the concrete hardens. Our crews train extensively on proper techniques to ensure consistent, professional results on every project.
Preparation and Base Work
Stamped concrete starts like any other concrete project. We excavate, build a compacted base, install forms, and place reinforcement. The difference is in surface preparation. We plan the pattern layout ahead of time so joints and seams fall in logical places. Curves, edges, and transitions require careful planning. We also coordinate color quantities and stamping tool placement before concrete arrives.
Pouring and Color Application
On pour day, we place the concrete mix and screed it level just like standard flatwork. If using integral color, it is already mixed in. For surface color, we broadcast color hardener powder onto the wet concrete and float it into the surface. This step adds color and extra surface strength. We may apply a second color or accent later in the process for multi-tone effects.
Stamping and Texture Application
Timing is critical for stamping. The concrete must be firm enough to hold the pattern but soft enough to take a deep impression. We test the surface and begin stamping when conditions are right. Texture skins or mats get laid across the surface and pressed down with hand tools or a power tamper. We work methodically across the entire area, aligning patterns and joints carefully. Release agent prevents the stamps from sticking and can add subtle color variation.
After stamping, we let the concrete cure for a day or two then clean the surface and apply a penetrating sealer. The sealer protects the color, enhances appearance, and makes cleaning easier. Proper sealing is essential for long-term performance especially on horizontal surfaces exposed to weather, traffic, and UV rays. We recommend resealing every two to three years to maintain protection and appearance.
Quality Control
Stamped concrete leaves little room for error. Once stamps are pressed and color is applied, you cannot redo the work. That is why we plan carefully, work with experienced crews, and maintain quality control throughout the project. We check pattern alignment, color consistency, and stamp depth as we go. The result is a professional installation that looks great from every angle.
